Anybody know what the factory i gues 8.??x24 rears will hold to the fullest capacity that you should put in them?

I am thinking about filling all or partially and thinking about what will be cheapest WWF or 25% antifreeze solution.

8.3-24 13.0 gallons if they are AG tires with the valve stem at 12 o'clock. fill to the valve stem is at the air/fluid line so about 75%. You need the rest of the space for air, as fluid does not compress, air does.

Firestone, Goodyear, Bridgestone etc publish tables including fluid capacity for each size tire. (Also rolling diameter, weight capacity, etc).

Search on 'farm tire handbook'.

Here's Goodyear's.

Here is the link to the firestone page, no mention of fluid fill. I looking at the link you posted now.

Firestone Agricultural Tire Division : Tire Details

Here is an interesting quote from the GY manual.

"Ballast Type
Liquid ballast should be avoided since it has a stiffening
effect that degrades ride and generally reduces ability to
control power hop. If liquid ballast is used in the rear of
4WD tractors or MFWD tractors, all tires on the axle
must be filled to the same level which should not
exceed 40% fill (4 o’clock valve stem position). Use 50%
fill when desired weight split cannot be met by other
means. Do not use liquid in 4WD fronts unless ballasting
is needed for heavy hitch-mounted ripper or scraper
applications. Up to 75% fill may be used in MFWD fronts
if needed for weight and/or to provide stiffness to assist in
power hop control."

I filled my rears on my YM2000 today to 75%. Did some box blading on my gravel drive. What a difference, it even makes the tractor run smoother. California what air pressure do you run on rears I put in 20 psi.

On the YM240 I'm running under 9 psi. I think 7.

I follow the advice of my neighbor who has been farming these same sloping orchards for 3 generations. He says load all four tires to 75% (to the valve stem) to get as much weight as possible, for traction and more important to resist rolling over.

Then lower pressure just until you see a bulge in the lower sidewall. The bulge indicates that the tread will have a broader footprint compared to a hard tire riding on a single cleat at a time.

On mine I filled only the (oversize) rear tires, then after I added the ROPS I reduced the fill to 50% because the whole rig was too heavy - it needed a lower gear going up grades.

On my little YM186D, 4x4, I have all four tires filled and pressure lowered to just see the beginning of a sidewall bulge.

I think high pressure with 75% fill is hard on the tires because the water isn't compressible. I suggest the lowest pressure shown in an inflation chart (12psi??) and I recognize that mine are even lower.

Here is a quote from the last link you posted...

"FILLING TUBE-TYPE OR
TUBELESS TIRES
WITH SOLUTION
To fill a tire 75% with water or solution:
First inflate tire to 35 psi after..."

So what do they recommend 50 or 75%?
