Hello-
I am thinking of buying a 4WD Yanmar tractor. Have spoken to to Stan at Hoye who seems great. Shipping is a bit of an issue as well as access to a mechanic if needed. Looking to see if there are any reputable Florida Yanmar dealers. I live in Ft Myers area in SW FL, but go to Ocala area on accasion. Also anyone know of a good tractor mechanic in Ft Myers area? Thanks.

Hampton, FL 32044

Or click this link Lazenby's site

I've never done biz with them but have herd good things about them

There is a company called Wicker Tractor Sales again I've never done biz with they but the advertise in the Florida Equipment Trader and say "Factory Reconditioned" this phrase to me....means run away. Yanmar does not recondition any of it's tractors.

There is also a fellow in Lakeland Florida on Hwy. 98 I tried to buy a Farmtrac from him once and didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling while I was there but he also sells Gray Market Yanmars.

Hope this helps

Lazenby's are decent people.. I've done business with them and not had bad feelings.. though it was implement purchases...

Also.. Dugan equipment sells yanmar.. they are on 441 across from ringpower
352-840-0200

Was a little shop for a few years.. now is a huge place.. gues he can't be scr*wing too many people right??

I bought my 1510D from a gray market dealer off 441 between Leesburg and Eustis. Wayne Wicker Tractor Sales. "Factory" reonditioned. You can't tell it from new. He gets them from a refurbisher. It came with a new FEL and cost me $5995. It is International red with white wheels, so I peeled off the "Zen Noh" decals and put bon McCormick Farmall Cub decals from Tractor Supply. Wayne also usually has some Mitsubishis with "Zen Noh" decals on them.

As one guy already said you had better watch those that are factory reconditioned. That generally means they were junk and they tried to make them good enough to sell. The regular ones, don't need any reconditioning. You might get lucky and get a good one, but your chances are small. Just read the posts on here and see all the troubles people have had with them. Just buy from a good dealer, that will stand behind them, and don't carry reconditioned ones.

We're a Yanmar dealer up here in Maine, Dick & Judy also have a place (vacation home) out on Pine Island.

They've met with Lazenby's and thought they were nice people.

We also bought our 1510D from Wayne Wicker. For what we're doing, clearing & maintaining 6 acres of what is mostly re-growth, it has not dissapointed us.

I don't care who anyone buys from. But when warned of the troubles that has happened to others in the past with the so called reconditioned ones. Why do you think they need reconditioned???? Most have very low hours on them. Do as you please, its not my money, so I won't be out anything either way. Like I said some get lucky, but some has paid a high price for buying them, just go to search and look and see. There I've done all I can, now its up to you, I will say no more.

"so-called reconditioned"? I appreciate your warnings, but a few bad apples don't always spoil the whole barrel. Every fastener is new. Everything was disassembled and painted separately. All seals are new. All running gear seems to be very low hours. Everything functions perfectly. I did have to weld the tip back on the 4WD selector. There are many car dealers that recondition every used car that comes in. They do it to ensure quality and protect their business reputation. I've been building cars, boats and motorcycles for over fifty years. I'm a pretty decent mechanic if I do say so myself. I checked the local tractor market carefully before making my purchase, and I'm quite pleased with my choice - a "refurbished" Zen Noh (Yanmar 1510D) with new loader for $5995.00.

All we are saying is why does a tractor with less than 1000 hours on it need refurbishing?
