Sure glad he didn't get scared and shoot them. Thanks RB

WOW. Unreal, he got to see not just ONE panther but three of them. I would guess they were a family group and the one with the most camera time was a young panther?

That was a once in a lifetime experience for sure. Just to see one panther would be something but to see three, for that amount of time and that close is unreal. Lucky guy.

I wish they said which part of the state this was taken. SW, central or some in Nawth FLA. Twas pretty open piney woods...

Later,
Dan

Neat video.

The panther really doesn't know what to make of the guy taking the video. Says he was in full camo, that probably makes a difference in terms of recognition, or the panther hadn't met people before.

I think he was in a vehicle taking pictures.

At 7:50 he turns the camera on himself and you see his camo, not what I would call "full camo" but it worked petty well apparently.
At 7:56 it looks to me that a vehicle can be seen moving to the left through the brush behind and just to the left of his right ear. I think the background noise is traffic but I'm not sure. I think he's within a few hundred feet of a paved road.

It looks like you can see his shadow actually cast on the panther at 1:50, so I don't think he is in a vehicle.

it just seemed the cat was too calm with a human 3' away. incredible footage no doubt,
similar to that bear video a hunter took earlier this year, i think they were in a tree

That's cool. Thanks for posting. Had an experience like that with 3 young coyotes several years back. Was in full camouflage with face net calling on a foggy day with 200 yards visual range. I was setting on the ground with my back against a tree stump looking down a long draw. After calling several minutes a sound of rustling grass came from behind me. Slowly turned my head to look there was a coyote 5 feet from me. I rolled onto my knees and he jumped back to 2 other coyotes that were 10 feet behind me. I had my rifle raised but I did not shoot as they had no idea what I was. Those 3 young coyotes just stood there looking at me. They'd cock there heads one way then the other just looking at me. After a minute or so one took off running and the others followed after him. I got the last one as he was crossing over the hill.

I seriously doubt it's a cell phone. The camera is obviously on a tripod (cell prone with tripod adapter?) and there are smooth zooms. Nice footage but not a cell phone IMHO.
