I have some flat faced couplers on my loader/tractor. (Kubota M 7060)
This is a ALO/Quicke loader. They used 'Faster' females on the loader hoses, and CEJN males on the valve body. It's the way it came from new.
I have a leak when the machine sits, couplers are together. When it's running I don't know if it leaks worse. When the connections are apart they do not leak.
Selling dealer says to replace the couplers....fine except they are around $100-150 a piece. Seal kit was $112, each.....
These environmentally friendly connectors have lasted 4 years/500 hours, made maybe a dozen connections.
There has to be a better seal kit, I'm awaiting emails to be returned from a few companies but don't expect answers.
I wonder a few things....
Is the O ring in the male causing the leak?
There's no seal kits listed for the female..
Are most brands of flat faced connectors cross compatible? Maybe the orings are too?
I'll test under pressure to see if it requires pressure to help seal....
Oh yeah, and these are British pipe thread.....
Pioneer won't fit side by side as the couplers are bigger than these Italian ones. I'd end up spending a small pittance on adapters, growing the assembly several inches longer, likely causing hose routing issues.... and these are funny sized hoses my local shop can't seem get ends for....
End of the day, if I can't find a better idea for O rings to rebuild, I'll let it drip, it'll keep the dust down.
Sorry, more of a rant than asking g for answers, but a bit better understanding of the working of these couplers may help. I've kept them clean, and cleaned the few times they've been apart/ reconnected
Overall, they work ok, but this little of use for the price makes them j-u-n-k.
