first year and 160 hours of operation

Well, I just recently completed 1 year of my first tractor ownership and I have got 160 hours on my new machine. That seems like a lot for a full time person in the corporate world. How about the rest of you new owners, or even those with many years of ownership with a separate full time job? I got my first tractor with a backhoe that seems so much like a toy that my mind, even when at work, was always on what I would do next with my new toy. I am finally able to go to work or do other things around the house without being frustrated for not getting seat time. Thank God, because it was not good, even unhealthy at first. Soooooo much fun! Its all I wanted to do. Don't get me wrong, I am not over it but it is now a manageable desire. I think I had some momentum to my insatiable seat time desires from spending so much time on this site before buying. I had to make up time for being online without a tractor living all of your seat time through all of your stories! Thanks its been great and Merry Christmas!

I put around 70 hours on mine over the past year. Now that we are really getting into the lot clearing/building I believe I will have more hours than that over the next 12 months. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

WOW-- 160 hours is a lot of use for one year. I am retired and took delivery of my JD back in early april and only have 67 hours on it this year---mostly mowing time. Got lots of work to do around our new addition next spring so the hours will likely increase for 2004.

I got mine sometime in June, early June I think.......it has 60 some odd hours on it now. I haven't had much of an occasion to putz around on it lately. Wanted to haul up some wood, but the ground is very wet, which means the wood is too......

Gee whiz guys aren't you using your tractors? I had my TC-40D delivered 10/28/03 and just passed 91 hours. I can't imagine the hours that I will be adding when Spring gets here and its time for the plowing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

had my tractor one month over a year and have 130 hours on it. And I thought I wasn't using it enough.

260 hours in my first year. I can relate to the obsession problem. It's nice, after a year of ownership to be able to sleep through a night without waking up, scheming for my next project.... I still wake up, just not every night....

I am still in the other project frustrated stage. Only have 20 hours for the first month. I Had to spend most of my time raising the entry to the tractor shed so the tractor would fit without taking off the canopy and then the rabbit fence for the garden etc... etc... I put about that on my tractor the first year but this year it was only 100 hours. Maybe if I can talk my wife into a backhoe I can get back to my plan of 150 hours a year.
