Tractor
LG Long Agribusiness LT280D
New here, as stated above, I am the proud owner of my first tractor (at age 75), and it seems there are no owners manuals in existence!! So, in a last ditch effort, I am here asking for help/information on a LG Machinery/Long Agribusiness/LS/???? LT280D 28 hp Mitsubishi S4L powered 4 wheel drive compact tractor with front loader. Ideally, someone here has one of these tractors and a manual, but an owner of one with knowledge he would like to share would be great.

Simple info, like where is the fill access for hydraulic oil, what is the correct level (in the sighting glass on the rear of the tractor), how do I actuate the glow plugs........and on and on.
I really need access to manuals to make this process as simple as possible.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Look in the LS section of this forum for your info maybe.

Quick internet search, came up with this link to TBN.

In my very limited experience, actuating the glow plugs happens when the ignition switch is in some position different from "run" and "off" and "start". All these functions are built into the same switch, reasonably enough. Maybe play with the switch looking for an unexplained position? Unless the glow plugs also have some indicator light somewhere, nothing will look different for the first maybe 10 seconds. My previous tractor had a little open window through which I could see a heating coil start to glow -- and the window looked like a perfect fit for poking a cigarette through it to light it.

As long as you can see the line across the top of the fluid in the window it is OK, guessing it's an actual window, not a sight glass/tube ...

My fluid is dyed red, if it's fresh, and of the clear variety, it is kinda hard to see the "line"!

Brand and model would be most helpful. In your description I see Long, LG, LS, and Mitsubishi. A general idea of tractor age may be helpful, too.

Thanks for the responses, the make is all, or some or none of the above mentioned brands. My research has pointed to a couple of old brands that were split off of mother company as tractor divisions on their own, then bankrupt and returned only to be absorbed by LS, who does not claim any responsibility for any owners info. I think it is an early to mid 2000's model. The dash panel says LG Machinery, the side metal says Long Agribusiness, and the plate on the frame states LT280D. When I search that info I get all kinds of tractors with that model #. My best hope was LS, when I emailed their home office I was curtly informed that "owner's manuals are given at the time of new sale".....goodbye!!!!!!

So, I called the nearest LS dealer and as nice as the gentleman was, he knew nothing of this brand, and wished me luck on finding what I needed. As some might have noticed, there are more than a few of us out here in the same predicament, needing and looking for information but nobody has come up with anything worthwhile.

The reference to Mitsubishi was to inform you of the engine only.

The key switch has off, on and start, and when you release off of start, it goes back to on, so I wouldn't think that on would be the glow plug energizer position.

Thank you again, hopefully a past owner will show up with first hand knowledge.
