i have been learning alot on this site thanks,i have found a 2008 3720 with the 300cx fel,r4 tires filled with only 2 hours on it.I believe it is being sold as new, it is at a dealer in new hampshire. The price is 23,400.00,this seems like a great price ,what do you think? The dealer also sent some prices for 60 inch brush hog by land pride and some other land pride implements, are these quality products or should i look for another brand? Thanks for any help i get

Welcome to TBN and congrats on your new purchase- to be!!

Landpride appears to be a great manufacturer and you pay accordingly to those standards.

thanks deereguy I have gotten prices on woods and land pride and they are close, but I have read that land pride were not that good.I guess i will find out for myself.I have tried out several different brand of tractor but i do like the jd the best, they seem to be smoother hyd wise.

That price sounds good to me. According to JD Builder, the MSRP on it comes to around 28,700. If you were to take 15% off of that, it would be about 24,500 and the price you have been quoted is another $1100 off of that.

I tend to prefer Woods equipment over everything, that's all I have every had and it has never let me down. I have always heard good things about Landpride though and I think you would be happy with them.

Good luck on your purchase.

Hiya,

Sounds like a great deal, does he have another one? Best my dealer would do was a 3120 demo w/175 hours, 300cx, 73hd bucket and r3's for 25K.

How do people get a discount off of list? All I have ever seen is list + shipping + setup.

Tom, I think you have to be polite and at the same time insist on a discount of at least 15%. To pay list price means you are loosing money when you buy, if you were to need to sell or upgrade for whatever reason you would loose thousands of dollars unnecessasarily.

In today's economy and for alot of people on the eastern seaboard the selling prices for discretionary items boats, suv's, rv's and small tractors are falling. To each his own but right now I am considering the purchase of a new tractor but only if the price is right, I expect to get 20% off if not I will wait and see what happens. I might add that another poster here has gotten 20% recently much closer to where you are located on a new unit.

Agriculture successes and woes determine the market for the larger tractors and equipment whereas the national economy has more to do with the sales of the residential sized tractors and equipment. Right now people are reluctant to spend money on expensive lawnmowers and estate tractors. If they do make a purchase it is a buyers market and expect the prices to come down from last years prices.

Steve's comments are pretty well on the mark. If the dealer won't seriously consider your offer - you need to head for the door - and not look back.

Sometimes the guys on the other side of the desk don't really think you'll walk..

That said, it's important to support local dealerships and your future needs as an owner is testimony to that idea. So, arm-wrestling for the last dollar isn't always the best long-term approach, either.

It's a balance; and you're the one to decide where that balance really is...
