I bought a Kioti 4710 last year and did not use the tiller behind it until the other day. I got it on but it was by no means quick and I suspect removing it will be difficult also. I am using a HF quick hitch and have managed to make it work with everything else. The tiller is a 5 foot King Kutter. I am having issues with all three hooks. What is the secret?

what's you problem /s ?

The common problem with the HF QH is the upper hook is connected too closely to the QH. Replacement hooks adding ~ 1/2 to an inch separation from the QH and or modifications are available to solve this specific problem.

What's the problem with the lower hooks? I needed to adjust the spacing on my Caroni tiller connections to best fit the HF QH. Otherwise the lower hooks are Cat 3 while most of us are using Cat 1 or 2 implements/pins. This can be fixed with adapters.

As was stated above, the top adjustable hooks do not extend out far enough on quick hitches. This includes the John Deere iMatch.
If the tiller does not have support legs for storage, that does make them difficult to hook & unhook because they are more unstable.
You will need to adjust the top link in or out to get the upper & lower hooks on the QH to match the upper & lower pins on the tiller.

Here is a link to a extended top hook for the HF hitch.

I have dealt with the top link problem with other implements by either moving the top hook or using an Q.H. adapter. The main problem I am running into is that the lower hooks only clear the front of the tiller by about 1/4 inch. The front of the tiller needs to be plumb in order for the lower hooks to engage. If I use the adapter on top, I run into clearance issues on the bottom when I adjust the top link to plump the tiller. My best answer has been to remove the top hook,Prop the tiller in vertical orientation, hook up the bottom hook and manually put the top hook in place on the tiller and use the top link to adjust the hitch into place so the two bolts can be inserted. It works fine but there has to be a better way.

For easier attachment of my KK ll tiller utilizing both HF QH & Pat's QH I trimmed the attachment hooks of both style hitches with a torch to give more clearance between hooks & tiller frame. I gave HF QH to neighbor because I like utilizing Pat's QH better than HF QH therefore centerlink attaching to tiller difficulties left when HF QH left my possession.

I think grinding down the bottom hooks might be in my future. I saw a Youtube video that also suggested it. I can see the charm of the Pat's system as it is way more flexible and solves the most difficult part of hook up. The top link is never very difficult due to the adjust ability. I have four other implements that work great with the Q.H. and one that needs the adapter. I feel like I am too close to nirvana to give up now.

I think you've found your solution. Is it nirvana? Nope, but it is better than man handling that heavy chunk of steel around to hook up. Of course nirvana is still possible, but it will cost.

I got my HF QH to use with two heavy implements, the tiller and the rotary cutter. It works marvelously better than what I have done for the past few years.
