I am close to purchasing my first Kubota. Having read through many messages, back & forth, from experienced owners....I am hoping to get some sound advice. Here is my situation... I have found a 1997 B2100 w/ LA301 Loader and a front mount hydraulic/angle snow blade (forgot the model number) The seller has hardly used the tractor...at all! There are 48 hours on the unit...and I have reason to believe the hours to be accurate. The owner used the tractor to snowplow his driveway. He also had a salt spreader...which has really "pitted" the 3 pt. hitch area and some serious surface rust has set in. The "ask" price is $ 9,000.00. I feel that I will need to have the back hitch are gone over by a dealer. Maybe have it sanded down and painted? There is a safety switch that needs replacing...and the fuel guage does not function. The unit was serviced every year by a local dealer. I am thinking about offering a bit less. (maybe $ 7,800?) One other question is will the B2100 operate a fence post auger? This is an essential use that I need for my property. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! DB

This sounds like a good deal to me. I would certainly consider it.

sounds like a good deal BUT if it was service at dealer every year why is the safety switch shot, and fuel gauge not working? could the salt from the spreader caused more damage than just the 3pt?

Good thoughts!! A mouse had nested in the tractor and destroyed the wiring connections to headlights...safety switch and fuel guage. SELLER has agreed to get those three items fixed at the local Kubota dealer...at his expense. The salt damage seems to be isolated to the 3pt area....and the dealer will be able to clean that up and repaint/replace as necessary. (at my expense) The purchase price has been negotiated down to under $ 8,000. We should finalize, today. I believe I will be buying my forst Kubota. Thanks for your comments!
