Had a B7500
My new B7500HSD was delivered on Tuesday night. I am off on Wed. so yesterday was play day. The machine is the perfect size for our property conditons, we have 63 acres, but a lot of tight places a larger machine would not handle. I used my back blade to level, grade and backfill along the side of my shed, as well as parts of the driveway. The lack of position control is reall NOT a problem, I'm glad I got over that! I spent several hours mowing with a 48" landpride rotary cutter. This size seems perfect fo this machine, and it ate up the saplings. While mowing I hit something with the mower that really made me cringe and hit the clutch.....turned out to be a log chain!! Mower and tractor were fine plus I got a nice chain out of it, which came in handy later.... Mowing around the pond, I crossed a drainage oulet which was a little soft, but we made it through fine....on the way back was a different story! The mower hung up on some dirt, and the little kubota dug herself right into the mud!! Yes, first day, only 2.5 hours on the machine and it is BURRIED in the mud. So we get the Polaris Ranger 6wd out .....no luck. Move on to the 2001 Ford F250 Powerstroke diesel, started to move the machine but was trying to go up-hill on slick ground. The truck got stuck! So now, we have the new B7500 stuck, the new F250 stuck, remember that log chain?? Finally we pulled the truck out with the Polaris, and the tractor was pulled part way out with the truck...now attacking the situation differently, and finished the job by pulling out the truck again with the Polaris and the tractor with the Polaris...WHEW. I spent the next half hour power washing the tractor. Just like new ( it is new!!), 3.5 hours to date!!

Good Deal Robert. Nothing like learing 'hands-on!' Thats the way to remember what "not to do".

Have fun with the B7500!

Robert- Congratulations on the new rig!

Your story reminds me of my first 20 minutes of tractor ownership /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. This thread may bring you a few chuckles. less than 1 hr. on the clock!

Enjoy- Dave

Boss,

Congrats on the new machine! Also sounds like you're having WAY too much fun! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Your situation sounds a lot like mine. A neighbor of ours has an L35TLB, and I get a "little" jealous of his larger tractor, until I get into one of those "tight" places, then I get my perspective again. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Your cutter is about the same as mine (I have a Woods 48"), and I've found that using the top link to control the "position" on the cutter helps a lot. In fact, I find that as I go up & down the hillside, I need to modulate the 3PH quite a bit to keep the front of the mower from digging in. First time was a challenge because I wasn't expecting to have to do that. Second time was a piece of cake, and quickly got the hang of it. May be going for the 3rd time this weekend; maybe the last mowing for the summer the way it's drying out here...
