Just got pretty reliable info this week that most First Choice products are scheduled for a price increase to the dealers, as new orders are placed?? Has anyone heard this or can confirm?

Having no access to any information, reliable or otherwise, there is no value in my attempting to confirm /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif , but from what I have read here and elsewhere, I suspect that JimMc's ( who is certainly in the know ) comments here are probably an accurate and current indication of what to expect from most vendors...

Don't think it will effect me very much!!!
EVERYTIME I CALL FIRST CHOICE , They give me a list of so called dealers and when I go to or call the dealers none of them have even HEARD OF FIRST CHOICE Have probably spent over 40 hours researching and calling, driving over 700 miles to non-existent dealers

Let me restate that I do not have any say in First Choice pricing.

In addition to the comments I made in the above referenced post, it is my understanding that the European Union devalued the dollar. I would imagine this would translate into higher costs for those companies importing European manufactured parts and machines - at least those coming from member countries of the Union.

Normally, other countries then begin to take advantage of the exchange rate and either try to expand their distribution base with more favorable (to them) pricing or initiate a price increase of their own to see extra profits.

It will certainly be interesting to see how things go next year. Could be a chance for someone to shake things up a bit.

Jim-Do you anticipate the 5-12% price increases from your Midwest company to be passed on to the "First Choice" line of equipment that you mfgr for them? I think it is a given that the steel prices are going to drive the imported equipment up in price. Thanks for your expert advise.

JimMc - I was not trying to imply that any price increase, on anyone's part, is or was your decision, nor to tie you to any other vendor's products. I had recently read the thread I referenced and thought it seemed applicable, general, and authoritative. My apologies to you and anyone who may have gotten the wrong impression.

Our increase was passed to First Choice early last spring. I believe they in turn had their increase at that time as well. Any increases at this point would have nothing to do with Midwest.

TractorlessSacto, I understood your post as you had meant it. Sometimes it's hard to pass the emotion of the words through text, so I try hard to understand the intent, as I'm sure most folks here do. By and large this has to be the most civil and friendly bunch on the internet. I appreciate this forum and the friends here more every day.

Guy,
Maybe I should share my experiance. After deciding what I wanted, I went to my local implement dealer, told him what I wanted & gave him First Choice's phone #. My dealer first tried to talk me out of it, then asked me did I want him to call First Choice. My reply was do you want to sell me a mower? He called, gave me a price, we ordered five minutes later. It took First Choice nearly 3 months to fill my order, but I would do it again as of now.

This might be an option for you, if you do want First Choice equipment.

I have had problems trying to locate someone to sell me First Choice products also. Sent numerous E-mails and no replys. ended up buying Woods products which appear to be fine.

Like any supplier.....prices go up...for 2003 prices will stay within 2 - 6 % of last years price....steel prices went up, shipping cost, insurance cost, etc....

We stock a very large supply of FC implements, 100 pieces plus at all times....for your best price and shipping information please call us at 864 - 847-8400 ask for Jerald or Eddie.

I read where people are waiting months to get delivery of FC implements.?????I question this...We keep 90% of all equipment models in stock for ready for immediate delivery.

Note> 90 % of our equipment is stocked in Green.
