I've gone through three tubes in the past month and a half (alternating sides, not the same wheel every time). Is this normal? Bad tube mfg? I read somewhere about issues with stem placement / angles.

Here are the tubes I've been using:
Amazon.com: 3.-4 Inner Tube Razor E3 - PREMIUM Heavy Duty 26x85 Replacement Mobility Scooter Tire Tube - Perfect for Razor E3 Scooter, Pocket Rocket, Chopper by Precision Auto - 3. x 4 Angle Valve Tube: Automotive

I've been considering moving to something like this:

I would stop messing around and have them foam filled. Call around tire shops and start hunting a place that can do foam for you. Done.

I had a finishing mower with. pneumatic tires and it did the same thing. I suggest buying solid rubber tires. Since I've had them there has been no problems.

Bad tubes period, you can buy Carlisle tire tubes for it or solid tires or for that matter you can fill the tire with windshield washer fluid to add ballast by purchasing a tire filling valve from gemplers or asking a tire store to put Carlisle tubes in it-they can get them or you can purchase them and have them install the tubes and the windshiel washer fluid and then you can dig some dirt.

Not sure how 'Windshield washer fluid' is going to prevent punctures in the tyres on his "Finishing Mower"? Nor why he would want 'ballast' in them either??
As for 'digging some dirt' ...

Solid/Foam/Gel-filled tyres are the answer or, at least, a 'slime-type' product.

At least get rid of the tubes , go tubeless and load them with that self sealing liquid stuff. Carry an plugging kit for the punctures that don't seal.
What size of tires ? Are solids manufactured in that size ?

I went through the same thing. I replace them with solid rubber tires. If I ever buy a new RFM (mine was purchased cheaply from a neighbor), it will have solid tires.

I've owned 2 rear finish mowers covering a time period of over 25 years. Never had a flat. Always run solid rubber tires. I just replaced the wheels and spindles on my PRD 7200. Got them from this place.

Kinda drastic I thought but this is what the previous owner did to my landpride on the front wheels. Never had an issue so had no need to change anything so far.
It appears to be drill pipe as the threads inside can still be seen. IMG_1973.JPGIMG_1974.JPG

Everyone thinks foamed tires ride rough but its' simply not true. I think they believe the foam is like expanding foam and is rigid when in reality it's like rubber. I've had foamed tires in everything from 30k pound telehandlers to my little mini skidder. Never once have I removed a tire to have a flat repaired. I have dozens of nails in my tractor tires and people will occasionally point one out and warn me, then I explain the foam. I'd recommend a solid or foamed tire, which is cheaper would be my choice as each serves a similar purpose.

The time you waste on dealing with a flat is worth enough to justify buying flat proof tires IMO. And at least for me with my luck flats always happen in the worst possible situation as opposed to being by the shop on flat ground.
