Finally the FTX 148-L is a reality

I am excited to announce that it is FINALLY official that the FTX 148-L is coming home next Tuesday. I had hoped to have it already but there were some delays and now it will be after the holiday. I expect this thing to me a mulching monster. It will have steel tracks and the Lynn Hendrix style drum and two speed motor. I have a TON of work lined up for it and I have been worrying them to deathe to get it. I will post a bunch of pictures when I pick it up since it will look pretty old and beat up the day after it hits the woods! I will keep y'all posted on its performance but I expect it to scream!

Congrats!!! I'm also looking forward to reading about it and how you like it. But of course, the pictures are what I enjoy the most. Lots of pics of the machine sitting there all nice a pretty, then pics of it tearing up the countryside and getting nice a dirty!!!

AAHHHHH!!!! A new toy. I've heard of Christmas in July. Are you keeping your 140 or did you trade?

As for now we are keeping the 140. I plan to have some upgrades installed. The shaft that comes out of one of the hydraulic motors is worn pretty bad and it is only about $100 more to install a new motor so I plan to replace both motors with 2 speed units. I am also looking into upgrading the drum to the HDT. My drum is on decent shape but the HDT is faster and combined with the two speed motors it should really scream as well. I have now turned my attention to the purchase of the Prentice. I think it is worked out as well but I am waiting for the new contract to be signed and awarded.
