Over the past 100 hrs or so every once in a while I would get whiff of burning oil when the tractor was warmed up. Finally tracked it down to a leaking a valve cover gasket. Was surprised at how easy it was fix.

Yes, sir! Stay on that scent trail... it'll lead you to a likely problem! :thumbsup:

I had a battery boil over while the engine was running (and charging) one time. Could not figure out what the rotten-egg/crude oil smell was - for the life of me!??!

Wandered around until I could pinpoint the odor - and the steam! Almost dry battery - and very close to meltdown!!
