Filter Gasket F*up.

So thought i would share this mess up with you. First time I have done this. And what is worse is that it was hidden, and if I hadn't heard the tram making a bit of a noise I would never have looked or seen it. The squeeze out was on the backside of the filter housing and just tucked up so only a little was hanging out. Only way I noticed it was that I felt all the way around (It was under the bracket on the back side).

Done that. Not on the PT, but i've had that happen. Maybe not enough lube on the washer before tightening?

Good point! Happen to me once, now I try to remember to make sure the old one is gone!

I changed oil and filter on my van. Everybody got in, I started it and oil began spewing. Sure enough, the old gasket hadn't come off with the filter.
