Fill-Rite pump

I inherited a Fill-Rite hand crank fuel transfer pump from my FIL. It leaks and is reallly hard to get primed. Has anyone ever tried to use a repair kit to fix one of these? Is it worth repairing or should I just get something new? I would prefer to repair this one if the repair kits are a good option. I have it setup with a 55 gallon drum and 1" pipe going into drum from the top.
