Hello, I live in Michigan.I drove out the woodchucks last year filled in their holes, but they came back and dug a tunnel under my driveway.I am looking for ways to shoot sand up inside to seal off hole.I have priced grout pumps and foam systems,Im not going to drill holes in the top and hire a mudjacking co. I am looking for ways to shoot sand way up inside to fill hole, then I'll make sure this doesnt happen again. They never came around drive before, and I never thought of it until they did. I thought a sandblaster with as big a nozzle I can get. Any suggestion? Thank you for your help!

Have you tried smoke bombs for groundhogs?
If you can't find the second hole to plug it before the smoke you will usually see the smoke coming out of it so plug it with dirt then.
If the groundhogs are home when you smoke the holes that usually takes care of that site for a long time. Keep the grass cut short and they will move to the woods.

Thank you for info.My main project is filling the tunnel under the driveway. I may end up buying a grout pump,or see what else is available for cheap.Thank you!

Might be able to rent one fairly cheaply.

Instead of shooting sand you need to shoot groundhogs... a .22 caliber would work just fine.

i have been "told" if they are shot and dumped back in their hole with dirt on top, the others won't come back. Don't know for fact as we can't discharge a firearm in our township, only "heard"

Pellet guns are pretty quiet...

You could "wash" sand into the hole using water. Might not completely fill it up but sand will "flow" pretty good when enough water is involved.

Where you can't discharge a firearm, live trapping is a good alternative. Easy enough to do I have found.

However........... I would suggest you test a trapped animal before relocating and setting it loose.
What has worked good for me is to submerge the trap in water. If the ground hog can hold there breath for 1/2 hour or more, they may be hearty enough to survive. If you release them without testing.......... They will usually beat you back to where you trapped them.

Good luck
