I've had two trucks with ARE tops. Never had any issues with either one. Not sure what series I had, but both had raw fiberglass finish on inside - carpet would have been nice and my head would have faired better LOL!

coobie, I just plain don't know anything about the Century Royal caps; don't know whether I've seen any or not. I bought a 2015 F150 about 4 months ago, then got the ARE V series cap from DFW Camper Corral (Camper Shells & Truck Covers | DFW Camper Corral). It does not have the carpeted headliner that I believe the Z series has. I got the optional 2 separate locks; one on each side instead of just one in the middle, and I got the front window that is a fold down, in case I need to get in there and clean the truck rear window and the cap front window (haven't had to so far). So I paid a total of $1700 including installation and tax. So far, I'm very happy with it.

12+ years on my ARE cap on my Tundra. Only issue is the rear brake light has clouded over and leaks inside. I have carpeted ceiling and dropped side rails that drop below the mating surface to the truck. Paid around $1700 back then (2004). Top of the line IMO.

Another satisfied ARE owner here. I purchased mine along with my Tundra in 2005. I have the Mpulse model (I think a lower end of the product line that has since been replaced by another model). I did spring for the drop-down sliding front window and carpeted headliner.

The cap's color is a perfect match for the truck and I haven't had any problems with the cap.

I don't know anything about Century caps, but I have read negative comments about Leer caps.

Don't buy one without dry fitting it to your truck first.
Have them set it on and check that the gap from cap to cab is even.
Also check bed rail fit and door operation/fit
When pulling fiberglass parts from a mold they can be similar but there can be slight differences for various reasons.
