Anyone have experience with a Ferris IS2000 ZTR? How do feel about the suspension? Does suspension matter on a ZTR.
All American made ZTRs are very expensive here in Australia so it is a big decision.

Ferris IS2000 = $15,000

Hustler X One = $14,500

Badboy Pup = $14,500

...,.suspension for quality of cut, or mower comfort?
guess many fixed & pivotal ft. ends all do well in commercial grade applications. i like pivotal if heavy duty. I cannot personally vouch for Ferris, i would personally put it in the top 5 commercial grade domestic made ZT mowers. i have 2, 54" & 34" for commercial applications manu. from companies in the same quality level as Ferris.
Given your location &( Price Range!!! )my 1st challenge would be to research parts & support for given manu.
But....i cannot even begin to imagine paying what you quoted just for a ZT mower. Must be a better link to your needs...Is there an aussie Kubota equiv for 5K less? diesel? What width & mowing conditions? ....... good luck

I have the Ferris IS2000 25HP kawasaki 52" cut - bought as a leftover 2009 model in 2010 - paid just under $7K delivered. I feel for you on the price point - here a brand new unit list price is around $8600-9K most.

It's a rugged well built unit with high end hardware parts on the suspension and frame, and the suspension is great if you have rough ground. I have reclaimed forest areas and rocks/boulders and the cut is great even over rough ground.

One other thing, the Simplicity brand is also made by Ferris but you need to get the top of the line machine to have the same options as the IS2000.

Personally as Bubba said, consider also a Kubota Diesel - here they run $12K - there probably more but they have a great repuation and also sip fuel, or another brand made there because that's a lotta $$ for a ZTR.

I've had my Ferris 1500 for about a year now. I got it from my BIL with almost 700 hours on it (his son has a lawn service). It has been dependable and I think the suspension helps, but more for making the cut even, rather than doing much for the operator. I'm going to replace the seat within the next few weeks with a Michigan Seat Highback Suspension Seat, Model# V-5300. They are sold in the States at Northern Tools and have good reviews.
