Ferris IS1500z starter replacement

Can some one give me some advice on removing the starter on this mower. I can't get to the rear bolt. It has a Kawasaki 25hp FH721V motor on it.

Why is it that you feel you have a bad starter?
It may be something else.
Is the reason I ask.
Please advise.
