Looking for advice on fencing in a creek bottom. The field, for the most part stays moist in some areas. Since the wet ground will make it difficult to pack in fence posts, what is the best way to fence in the area? Wooden posts or metal t-posts? What do you recommend?

Driven post will stay better then dug and packed will.

It took 655+ metal 145 T-posts to fence in my 80 acres. I made a manual post pounder out of heavy drill pipe.
I had to cross a very wet area. About 120 feet. These eight or so metal posts have, about, a ten year life span.
Being exposed to wet/dry conditions causes the posts to "corrode" off right at the ground level.
Otherwise - all the remaining posts have held up well. As has the barbed wire fencing.
I would recommend T-posts and expect to replace them in the wet areas on about a ten year cycle.

I have driven posts in with my Shaver post driver in wet ground and they hold more solid than digging a hole. As odd as it may sound when punching them into soft ground it kinda of creates a suction when you try and pull them out, wood posts will hold better than steel T posts.

My advice is a little soil dependent; if you have soft water/acid soil, I would vote for wood posts, but if you have hard water/alkaline soils, I think that T-posts are an option as well.
If you do use wood posts, I would try to find a rot resistant wood, cypress, honey locust, or a marine grade pressure treated post. Box store pressure treated won't cut it in wet soils.
+1 on driven versus dug postholes, unless you are on bedrock.
