FEL Storage ?\'s for av8r2230

I was perusing the pics on your site and noticed how you have your FEL set up for storage. Since I haven't had mine off yet, I wondered about a couple things I noticed in your pic.

1) Why is the boom extended? Does that make it easier to remove and attach?

2) Is the particle board under the feet to prevent the floor from being scratched? Or does that also help in removing and attaching?

That particular pic was taken shortly after I got the tractor and was still kind of green with how to r & r the FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

It is not necessary to extend that far to R & R the FEL. Just experimenting. The wood under the FEL cushons the floor from scratching and also the bucket/legs to not leave little rusty stains on the floor either.
