FEL \"O\" rings

Just what purpose do the rubber "O" rings serve that are on the cylinder rods on an LA402 loader? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif They just seem to freely float (not loose) on the rods. I would think they would be at the end of the cylinders. I have had the loader for less than a year and I noticed that one of these "O" rings is broken or torn. It is still around the rod but loose. Does this need to be replaced? If so, it looks like a major job of disassembly for something that doesn't appear to contribute to the operation of the FEL. What do I do? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: FEL \"O\" rings

They are just there for the painting process to keep the rod and seal free of paint. You can remove them as they are no longer needed.
