Hello, I have a Woods LS84 FEL on a Kubota B7500 for approx. 10 years. Always worked great.
Recently it started having a grinding noise when I curl the bucket down. All other movements are fine.
Fluid level is not low.
Does anyone have any ideas what this might be.
Thanks in advance.

Check pins to make sure they are greased.
Can you pin point where the noise is coming from?

Check for build up dirt small rocks etc.,also as Dave said.

They do require greasing Every 10 hours of use. Make sure the zerks actually take the grease and it goes into the bushings. Pump until it come out the ends. If it hasn't been greased in a while, grease it, use it an hour and grease again.

IMHO greasing loader every 10 hrs is excessive for most loader operation for the average tractor owner. Commercial use then yes but for the majority of tractor owners on this site no. I've run farm equipment such as hay balers & cutters that the suggested greasing interval was a lot longer than 10 hrs and ran these machines for yrs.

Yeah, as I said a few days ago, I have modified my "grease it too often" habit to something more realistic. I have taken things apart that I have over greased for years and it's obvious that it was overkill. Actually all you need is one molicule of lube between steel components to adequate lube them. That's not much.

If you want to know what a molecule of oil is, try this experiment. Go to a small pond of maybe 100' across with no wind blowing and a pier to get you out in the center. Get an eye dropper like used to come in a bottle of eye drops when in the glass bottle with the squeeze bulb and dropper in the lid. Stick the dropper tube in some engine oil and then drop ONE drop of oil on the water. Sit back and wait. Gravity will disperse the oil down to one molecule of thickness. Don't be surprised if most of the pond, if not all is covered in oil. Very impressive experiment. Grease is nothing but oil and a soap binder....#2 which we mostly use, anyway.

You cant overgrease a loader... but if you have a lot of moisture it can build up rust on the pins.. id take them out and replace them.... unless you have grind, rocks, mud inbetween the pivot points

I think grease oozing out of bushings is excessive due the fact that grease isn't CHEAP. Opinions resemble navels as everyone has one.

Cold weather will make the condensation in the hydraulic oil freeze into slush and plug filters . Is he noise mechanical or hydraulic ?
