I have a KMW FEL with a 2 Spool 2 lever control valve which is going bad and I want to replace it with a joystick type control valve but I am not sure what is involved with this.

I found a few that said they were for power beyond but I'm not sure what this means and have not been able to find definitions anywhere.

Does anyone know what is involved with what I'm trying to do and the parts that will be required?

Thanks,
Dave

See this TBN thread for a discussion of hydraulics and power beyond. In this thread this schematic is referenced that shows what power beyond is.

Oh, and one more thing....

Your 2 spool valve should have 4 work ports for the hoses that go to the loader cylinders. It probably has another 3 hoses connected to it for inlet, return to tank, and power beyond. If this is the case just go to Surplus Center and get a nice joystick valve that will fit into where your current valve is and is sized for the correct hydraulic flow of your tractor. Then reconnect the hoses accordingly.

I just bought a 2 spool, OC w/ float and PB joystick loader valve from prince direct. This was a manufacturer defect where a couple of the holes were drilled slightly off mark and they wouldn't pass QC. Nothing wrong otherwise and carry a 1 year warranty. $85.00. Don't know if they have any left though.

and do what Mad said about putting it on.

yep what others said:

make sure you find out what kind of hydraulics system you have on your tractor! then match the valve to the hydraulics type of you're particular tractors setup....

power beyond is for continous flowing pump, means no pressure control at pump it just moves fluid form resiviour out to valves and back to resiviour. the valve then changes where that flow goes, pressure does not build untill the flow meets resistance as in Moveing a cylinder. you maybe able to FIX you're valve. by cleaning & re-packing. pretty easy I just got one from a friend on here used for $25 he replaced his from a different defect NEW form factory. they sent him new one so his was extra, but same valve body as mine. I'm addng MORE sylinder ports.

EBAY has some for 175.00 if you search for them. but if you can get one for 85 NEW form prince defect qc then hey I'd go cleaper rout.

anyhow I need to find some longer bolts, for mine, need grade 8 hardened I'm sure, for the extra valve banks I'm going to use.... I have measuerments out incar. need to post and look for soem bolt kits for it!
