2013 Kioti DK45SE
Hey folks - looking for some help with float operation - I have a 2013 Kioti DK 45SE. My float function has stopped working. I can push the lever forward all the way but do not get the click and hold in place any longer and of course float not activated. Not sure if this matters but I also (as seen in other posts) had the scenario where when I was taking the float function off it was very difficult to pull back and was a very loud clunk. All other functions work fine and lever operates smoothly. I saw in other threads that some maintenance and lube may solve the problem, however, I could not find any tutorials or instructions on how to do this. My question is, is this a simple procedure (and access to the area) and does anyone have any links to instructions or guidance/cautions on how to perform the maintenance? Although I am getting better, I am not very mechanically inclined so help and guidance would be really great.

Thank You!!!

Remove the cap off the bottom of the spool...the problem should be obvious...new parts may be required...

As the previous poster said, go underneath the tractor where the valve body is for the fel. The caps are cylindrical and hang beneath the valve body. On mine they are held in place by 2 small bolts. Remove those (2 caps on mine) and clean them out. Factory doesn't seem to put much lube in there. Fill the caps with regular grease and put back on. For me made a huge difference. Mine was getting stuck in float. You can't hurt anything removing those caps. I remember one cap being hard to remove. I had to cycle the joystick to get it off. Hope that helps.

Thanks to you both - I'll get up to my place Wednesday and check it out and see if I can get it resolved. Appreciate the replies.

Good day folks - coming back around to this topic again as it is not resolved and got an interesting comment on it from the service manager at the dealer.

After receiving the suggestions in this thread, I checked out the tractor and determined it was more than I was willing to dive into to try and fix. I waited until my next service on the tractor at my dealer. I recently took it in and got the 700 hour service completed and asked them to look into the float function. I told the service manager I thought from my homework it needed cleaning out and lubricating but if it needed more to please repair.

When I went to pick it up the service manager said I don't have the float function. He said even though it says it on the sticker on the control all of them do not have it. I told him I had it up until about 9 months ago when it stopped working. He said he could not explain how I had it before because to have the float function the (and trying to describe this and repeat what he said ton the best of my ability) "you have two coils on the valve for the boom function and when you have float, one is longer than the other but mine are the same length." I do not understand what that means and don't know where to go to get educated on it. When I asked if he could change out the coils and put a longer one end for float he said he was pretty sure the whole gear
mechanism would have to be replaced and that it would be pretty expensive. At that point I just said I needed to do some research on it so here I am - can anyone offer some insight and help?

Any links or references to where I can go to learn more would also be appreciated.

I really miss my float function!!!

Thanks,
Steve

While I haven't made a study of all Kioti Tractors I don't believe your tractor didn't come with float!!! I would contact another dealer to confirm this. But given my first Kioti (2012 CK20s - at the time the smallest and without question one of the simplest machines out there!) had float, and my current CK2510 has float I can't see them not putting it on yours.
And I'll ask the obvious question just to get it out of the way: When you did have float to confirm you would push the fel joystick fully foward, it would click into float, the loader would then follow the ground assuming you didn't tip the bucket enough to cause it to dig in. If the loader would follow the contour of the ground then you have/had float.

Another option might be checking out https://www.michiganironandequip.com/ and looking up the valve - it should show if it has float.

Thanks for the input - with me it is always very appropriate to ask the obvious. I definitely had float in my tractor until it stopped. I like the service department at the Kioti dealer so do not want to be too critical but when I told them I had it before he kinda blew me off about it and went on to explain why I didn’t. I just thought it better to do some research before I made a big deal of it and make a fool. I think I will contact Kioti America and get an official word from them and maybe their involvement to get it corrected. I’ll also check out the link you sent along as well. Thanks again!

Can you post a picture of your valve? We probably can tell if it had float. Normally there will be one longer cap with float but if you have a forth position on the curl spool like regen then they would be the same length and still have float.

Did you ever get your float fixed. My cs2410 is doing the same thing. I removed the caps and the little balls in mine are rusty and froze up. If I get it working it only works a few times and then it won't hold. I can't seem to find the parts without buying the whole valve.

Sorry for the slow reply - saw but forgot and got busy. I can’t get to me valve easily so trying to get Kioti to assist and get it back the dealer. Kioti America not responsive so far.
