Here's another possible location for bucket hooks. Personally, I'm very happy with it. There are two hooks, on on each upper corner of the bucket. Light loads can be lifted from one hook with excellent operator visibility. Heavier loads can be slung across both hooks to spread out the load. Because they are on the corners, they are extreemly well supported so you don't end up with a bent bucket which is all too often the case with a single hook in the center of the bucket. The also don't interfere with other bucket operation.

Photo attached. In this example there is an angle bracket. My older tractor had them welded directly to the side of the bucket inthe same basic location so no bracket was needed.

You mentioned that there is an angle bracket in your current set up. Is this part of the bucket, or did you have to have that welded on to the bucket? I've got a FEL ordered (and a B2410 to go along with it), and I'm thinking about getting the dealer to install something like you've done before they deliver it.

Thanks,
Will

Just wonder if you ever consider a slip hook welded in the middle or 3/8 or 1/2" "O"ring for for strap use.

Snow on the FEL..not thats a sight I hope I don't have to see for a while. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I asked the dealer to add hooks before I took delivery. They had previously done it for me on my B2400 and just welded the hooks the the side of the bucket just in front of where the hook is in the picture. I had figured they would do the same thing again but instead it came to me like in the picture. They added the angle brackets. With the brackets, the hook does not stick out (the 1/2" to 3/4" thickness of the hook) beyond the side of the bucket which I guess is better.

And they didn't charge me for it either! But now that I think back to what I paid them, it's the least they could do.

Thanks for the information. I'll print out your original picture and see if I can get my dealer to do something similar.

Peter, your suggestions make alot of sense. I have one grab hook in the middle. There is no chance to bend my bucket since it can only lift 1800lbs. The bucket won't bend, its way to rigid. If I did it again, I would chain grab hooks at the ends and a large slip hook in the middle for either chain or as is often the case a large strap for lifting trees. Rat...

Hayden--Nice looking hooks w/o Clevis pins ends. Where did you obtain grab hooks without the clevis pin ends and that were obviously flat on the bottom making the welding job a lot easier????

The dealer produced them. They probably came from BB Chain, since they are sister companies.

Labonville also shows them in their catalogue.
