I've been using the forum for research the last couple of days, and am about ready to buy a B7500. I checked Kubotas out at the local dealer (Sound Tractor in Everett, WA), and the B7500 looks to be the best match for my needs.
The FEL that comes with it is the LA272 instead of the LA302. I can probably live with the slightly-lower power, however, when I asked the dealer if he would include a toothbar for the bucket, he acted all puzzled. He said they don't carry them, and he doesn't think Kubota makes them. He offered me some suggestions for how I could make my own.
I didn't get the impression from the threads I read that a toothbar was unusual. (Uh, is there anyone with a FEL who *doesn't* have a toothbar? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif). So I'm wondering if he's just working the sale around what he's got available.
He's offered me the B7500 with the LA272 FEL, bucket hooks, filled tires (just the rears) and delivery for $13,200 (pre-tax). I know that's not the best deal in the country, but also gather prices vary by region and there aren't many Kubota dealers in this area. He'll upgrade to the LA302 for an additional $250.
Can anyone tell me if a toothbar for the LA272 is an unusual request? Also, should I just fill the rear tires or all four?
We have 4 acres, horses and, hence, mud. More mud than lawn, in fact, and I have a riding lawnmower, so I'm leaning toward the R1 tires since I will rarely if ever need to run my orange beauty across the grass. We'll mostly be using it to move, ah... compost, spread gravel and sand, dig postholes, and do some brush-clearing and ground-leveling. If anyone has any additional insights they'd be willing to share, I'm Highly Interested in them.
