Hi Guys, im looking at s 555dtc farmtrac. The tractor is exceptionally clean, with relatively low hours. MFWD with a loader. Whats a tractor like that worth and are there any known common issues with them? It fits my needs perfect, just unsure of the farmtrac name. They seem to have a pretty good reputation around here and parts don't seem hard to come by. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tractor is listed at $14,000. Around an 06 model with 300 hours.

Do these prices seem good for this tractor? The one i am looking at is comparible to the one on Tractor House. Its a lot closer to home though..

Since Farmtrac is out of business, the prices of tractors is really what ever someone is willing to pay.

I would try and find any listed on the various equipment sales sites (Craigs list, Tractor House, Equipment Trader etc) for your region to see what asking prices are as a guide.

I'd then look at other brands that are the same size and capabilities to see what they are listed for. I'd take those prices and offer literally $1000's less than those other brands.

In the end, you have to be comfortable that you will be able to get the tractor serviced (parts/repairs) in the future. Also, realize that if you do ever want to sell the Farmtrac, you will have a very limited market to sell to.

Farmtrac is NOT out of business, The US branch went out , but they are slowly coming back. There are dealers in the south, selling new ones today. they still sell many tractors in India and make new ones to this day. Parts are not an issue. Ours has been a pretty good workhorse, but definitely nothing special. Dont know if I would buy another new one if I had a chance , but would definitely look at a used one

I stand corrected.

Here is a link to a tractor data post from circa 2008 indicating Farmtrac did stop production. The new website indicates the dealers are only in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Does the new Farmtrac have parts for the old tractors? Are these parts available only from the dealers in the three states referenced?

For my personal tastes, purchasing an older Farmtrac is just too dicey.

I never have an issue getting parts the people I use just get them from India when they are not a common item. It has been a good machine but like I said I would never get a new one again , but a used one at a good price we could not scare me
