Well, this morning I took a trip out to Conyers, GA and visited Gamble77 at his shop, Wilson Tractor.

If you are in the market for a nice tractor, I recommend that you take a look at Farmtrac. I was thoroughly impressed with the 360. Also, Gamble is a really nice guy. He was more than happy to answer all of my questions, let me test drive the 360, and took me on a tour of his shop. They have plenty of equipment and the means by which to service it. Don't hesitate to give them a call or PM.

Now if I could just win that Lottery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know Gamble will appreciate your kind words. It's nice to have a good dealer and even better to have a great dealer. I've been blessed to have one here close to me.(Ratliff Service Center) Started dealing with him in 97 when it was Long and we've become good friends. My dealer is also a cattleman so we have a lot in common.

The Farmtrac is a hot seller in my area. Nothing stays on the lot very long. I saw 2, 4wd 60hp units and 1, 73 hp 4wd that he's sold. They sure have a good looking front drive. Heavy built. I just might have to look at one of those next time I trade.

I've sure been pleased with my FT 80. Darn good solid tractor with lots of power and handles well also. Got 243 hr's on it now and has been very dependable. That's winter and summer.

I know one of the guys that bought the 60hp 4wd. He's been haying with his and put a 5 shank chisel plow behind it. Said in 2wd it would spin a tire every so often but with all fours pulling it didn't spin at all. This was in hard clay soil and it's been dry here. He's a happy customer too. I see several lawn and garden service outfits now running Farmtrac's here.

To give a sample of the service FT does. I needed a straight drawbar(some call it a belly bar) for one piece of equipment I have. They don't make a straight drawbar for my model tractor. I talked to my dealer about this and he passed it along to FT. They shipped me a straight drawbar that looks like it's for a Ford 6600 or a model near that size. The dealer had 2 holes bushed to the correct size and we swapped drawbars. I was impressed. They didn't have to do anything but say "we don't make a straight bar" and do nothing. They took that extra step and I'll sure go to them next time I deal too.

I have a dealer in town, and i looked at them just recently, they do seem to be very well built, and he does sell quite a few of them.

Charolais, Nice to hear that you are enjoying your tractor. Testimonials from those with experience certainly do go a long way. I've not yet seen one of their larger 4wd tractors. I think Gamble recently said something about them. I didn't think to ask today, but I would be interested in taking a look at one. A bit to large for my interest, but it would be interesting to look at.

Frank, I agree that they are nice looking machines. I even took my video camera with me today so that I would have something to reference later. I viewed it this evening and am glad I took the time to record a few minutes worth. If anybody else does this, be sure to hold still for a lengthy delay at each angle. I did not realize at the time how quickly I was walking around the tractor for the different angles, etc. The feature I was most impressed with is gear stick. It is up front and out of the way. Really easy to use. I grabbed it at one point and pulled it into 2nd while explaining how to operate it to my wife. Normally I would have pressed in the clutch even though it is fully synchronized. Was a little distracted at that moment /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. However, it didn't make a sound of protest. Shuttle shift was very smooth and the engine runs strong. Very nice machine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the comments!

Glad you liked the machine, sounds like the Farmtrac line is doing well across the country.

The 4wd utility tractors are suppose to be trickling in this month. I have six of them on order I believe, most with FEL's. I have seen a few units and they do look stout, they would make great small farm units to till & clear land with. Farmtrac is suppose to have the cab units at the Sunbelt expo this year, I already have customers wanting to get their hands on the 4wd cab units.

Great! Can't wait to see one. With all four turning on a tractor like that, it would be unstoppable.
