Has anyone ever put a tractor type logging winch on their dozer? Without really knowing how, or the draw backs, I think I would like to do this. The lift mechanism and hydraulics seem straight forward enough. It is hooking up to the pto I don't know about. Seems like the transmission pto would be to fast. I think it is directly off the transmission input shaft.
My dozer is a Dresser TD7G. About 70 HP and 14500 lbs. Any info on this will be appreciated. Thanks

You have a pto but Im not sure what the PTO speed is or the rotation. I think its higher than a tractors as the or4iginal winches for them are geared pretty low. I have a friend that yeas ago put a Cable control unit off a Cat D7 that was used for the blade and pan. He mad an adapter and put it on the back of his D65 Komatsu to pull a cable pan and cable ripper. You could make an adapter for your pto and mount a Farmi or build one out of a truck axl like a pulp loader that works like a farmi.
