Farmall 45 cab vs 55 rops

I have 80acres: 40crp trees, 35 timber, 5 pasture. I have been pricing CUT and utility tractors. JD I like but are pricey. I currently have a kubota zd28 mower and rtv but am not crazy about the dealership. Case dealer is farther away but prices seem reasonable and I like the salesman. Farmall 45 cab is just slightly more expensive than the Farmall 55 rops. I would like to use it to mow, plant food plots, etc. Which would be a better fit?

I think the question is whether the Farmall 45 cab or the Farmall 55 is a better fit.

It really depends on how much you want the cab and on your intended use. Do you want the Hydro transmission or the 12 speed?

I think either would be fine for mowing 5 acres and planting some food plots. What else do you need it to do?

I'm not familiar with these models but I did glance at the specs, the 45 is at the upper end of the compact line while the 55 is considered a utility machine. They both have 4 cylinder 135 cubic inch motors, the 55 is turbocharged. The 45 rated speed is 2600 rpm whereas the 55 rated speed is 2700 rpm. I'd sit on both tractors with engines running at rated speed to see what I think.

The 55 utility tractor as expected has more pto HP, more pto lift, and if you get a loader it will lift more. I imagine it will also use a little more fuel as well.
