farmall 200
I have a 1955 farmall 200 i restored when i was 13 an it ran perfect for about two years after it started running like crap so i changed points condenser plugs an wires an still struggled to start, so i checked the timing an it was off so i set it correct an it did it again like a week later so i tried a different dist off another of my parts tractors an it still jumps timing after a short while of running, so could it be a problem with the gear on the cam being sloppy alowing it to skip a tooth? Bad cam bearing allowing enough movment to let it jump?

Welcome to TBN from Northern Ontario, Canada.

Since it has been almost 12 hours since you posted and nobody has answered you, I will try.
As soon as I post someone will come along and give you an entirely different answer.

Pull your distributor, after scribing the side of it and the block so you get it back in properly and take a good hard look at the shaft and the gear.
I think you might have a bad tooth on the gear, but it could also be that the shaft is pretty worn.

Here is a link to Case/IH parts catalog online, that I hope carries through with an exploded view of your ignition unit. Official Case IH Online Parts Store and Case IH Catalog for Best Parts Search and Best Parts Look Up. Case IH Parts for Case IH Tractors, Case IH Combines, Case IH Tractors, Case IH Manuals, Case IH Parts

As Looking4new said, check the shaft & gear, and the drive shaft, #8 in the exploded view. Could be worn/broken teeth on the shaft, or possibly damaged drive tangs on the other end.

That little drive shaft is probably the weakest link in the drive, other than the small roll/spring pin holding the drive gear on the distributor. Being it's jumped time with both distributors, I'd suspect the #8 drive shaft teeth being worn.

I have seen those drive shafts in aftermarket parts catalogs before, so apparently they have been a problem. Out of the 5 tractors I have with the C-113/123 engines, I've never had that problem, yet...
