6v or 12? Just had one show up with a froze motor and we were wondering what it took.

Thanks!

Don't know what "just had one show up" means. But look at the battery, and it will give you a clue....three caps is 6 volt, 6 will be 12 volt. :)

Somebody my Dad does "property management" for told him to take it because she wanted the polebarn it was under removed. There is also some sort of Ford there. It's been sitting for 25 some years under a roof.

There is no battery, thus the wondering. Appears the clutch is spent because even though it goes into gear (grinds when going in if being towed, so we no transmission goes that far) you can't crank the engine. The forward facing clutch cover is sitting on the operators platform, indicating someone was looking that direction at some point.

Engine is also froze, the MMO will be applied soon.

I believe the serial was 14102J, any idea on a year?

Thanks for any help. Looks like it's time to do my first old iron learning.

A 200 was 6 volt positive ground when it left the factory.
All 200's were either 1954's, 1955's or 1956's. Most Farmalls started with s/n 501, and each model was serialed separately. I'll guess that one is a 1956.

Thank you, I'll forward it to my dad.

What was the reason or advantage with all this old equipment running positive ground?
