any one use any of their products? especially the discs FARM STAR FIELD CULTIVATOR

local farm king has set of discs for about $250 cheaper then the dealer price

look like they are built solid.. but not adjustable angles as far as i could tell

I've got a FarmStar 6' box blade, a FarmStar Carryall, and a FarmStar cone fertilizer spreader. They make decent enough stuff. No experience with the disk, though.

The box blade isn't the heaviest one available, but it surely isn't the lightest, either. I like my FarmStar better than the comparable KingKutter box blade, I think it's heavier and built better. I'd recommend it.

As for the fertilizer spreader, I've spread a few thousand pounds of fertilizer with it, a few tons of lime, and my brother in law borrowed it once to sow 80 acres of millet. It does a pretty good job, and I've had no problems with it so far, except spreading the lime was a challenge until I improvised an improved "beater" to keep it from bridging at the bottom of the cone.

So far, I don't have any complaints about my FarmStar stuff. It gets the job done.

I saw your property and am wondering if you are managing your lake for ducks?

Sincerely,

no i am not i do get ducks out there.. this weekend had about 30 teals and a dozen or so coots. get more geese there than anything. there are a lot of smaller ponds near my lake and the ducks seem to flock to those more. i have considered to do some planting for the ducks though.. but trying to establish some deer plots first.

I have been looking at Farm Star myself and I believe they are as well built as King Kutter (just my opinion). I know they are built by the same company that builds worksaver here in Litchfield Illinois. My neighbor bought a worksaver tiller and I believe it is a pretty good tool.

If you buy a disc let me know how you like it. I was set on buying a King Kutter disc until I looked at the Farm Star brand disc.

Well, a year later and i broke down bought the tiller and the discs.. the tiller i am not real happy with. Just cant seem to get it to hook up right to my yammy. These discs though, picked them up in the fall. They are built like a tank, very heavy and slight adjustment on the "gangs" so you can angle them or make em straight. Put it to work last weekend to make a small pumpkin patch for my kids and nephews, made easy work of the ground. I just ran a cultivator through it first to break up the ground a bit then the discs over that. Now to disc up the food plots for planting.

Actually no, i grabbed a iseki tiller for a good price.. just had a **** of a time getting it to fit. The tiller sat to close to the tractor so i couldnt get a pto shaft to fit. I picked up longer lower arms, and got a shaft to fit, but didn't have room for a slip clutch so ended up braking the shaft. After that i lost patience in dealing with it so its sitting in the barn. Maybe this spring i will try get it to fit.
