Hello, I am interested in these Chinese tractors from the Homier tool sales. During the last sale they had in our part of Ohio, they only had one demo, and they sold it on the first day.

They advertise these on their web page "starting from $2999.99" Is it possible to get one for that price (besides taxes), or do they have so many other fees tacked on too? Are there any options that they offer, or options that they make you buy to get the tractor?

Has anyone here actually bought one from them? It is cheaper than an actual Jinma, and is really all the tractor I need. I'm assuming that the 2 wheel drive model would be comparable in power and usability to my old 2N Ford, which is going to become a parts tractors before too long...

Share any purchase stories if you've bought one from a tool sale. Also, Homier's has started to set up a network of dealers listed on their web page. I'm going to assume that the price would be higher, since there's one more person to mark up the price? What's the best way to buy one of these tractors?

Thanks!

andy - not all jinmas are the same, believe me. i bought one of the homiers once (previous threads), and after researching a while and owning a couple more, there is a large difference. i got rid of the old 8n when i got my first jinma (homier), and yes, i was a lot happier! i now sell the jinma tractors, and keep anywhere from 18 hp to 35 hp in stock. things to consider--service after sale--- homier ain't gonna' be around for service work. their salespeople can't even explain how to operate the tractor. parts under warranty --warranty isn't any good if nobody answers the phone or gets your order out to you. power steering isn't standard on homiers, or at least it wasn't last i knew of. for a few dollars more move up to 4wd, full year warranty, and quik- connect hoses and couplings for hydraulics is a must, especially if thinking about a loader or hoe down the road. if you went with the 'price-leader', 2wd, no steering, you certainly wouldn't want to add a front loader on it later. just a little thought(s) from somebody that's been there, done that!!

Andy, If you are mechanically inclined and would be someone that would look to purchase a crate tractor, the Farm Pro is probably fine. The 3K unit looks like a very stripped down unit, but the 254 for 6K, looks like a standard Jinma package. Farm Pro 254 Most dealers sell the 254 tractor around 7.5K. I haven't seen allot of feedback on Farm Pro, but what I've seen, indicates that they are not experienced assemblers or not taking the time to address things. I saw similar results from Rural King. My Website Look at the Survey Results page.

Madhouse, the pictire you posted, looks like a 204 or 224, with the smaller rear tire and smaller front wheels, but its badged a 284. Did you order a 204 with a 28hp Y385 engine?

I only use the tractor with my mower, blade, and scoop on a 4 acre lot. It seems to me that the 4 wheel drive models are more tractor than I need, and more money than my wife will let me spend! My leaky old 2N with the cracked block is ALMOST adequate for everything that I need, but I'm looking for a slight upgrade. I have about $3500 or so to work with.

Can you actually get one of Homier's tractors for the advertised price (or close to it)? Am I better off spending the same amount of money on a good 8N? Can the parts through these be ordered through Jinma sources instead of Homier, in case Homier quits selling them?

I figure for that amount of money, I've have to be fixing little things on the tractor here and there, but it's a full time job with a 60 year old 2N! Maybe I can get away from that a little bit...

Andy, not sure of the pricing (would give them a call), but believe as long as you bring something to haul it back, its 3k + taxes.

As long as your lot is not on a hill, the smaller tractor will do those tasks fine, as long as the implements are not oversized for it. You will be limiting yourself for future upgrade, but understand about having a fixed pocketbook.

Jinma parts are available at most Jinma dealers (see the listing on my website). A complete online Jinma Parts site is being set-up, but is not yet complete. Jinma Parts Site

john- i'll need to go look for sure tomorrow. it's a 284, for sure, but the shop may have put wrong tires on it !!?? i bought that specific tractor from deljen, already assembled, and added the hoe, just for demo purposes on the lot. andy -i don't think you would regret making a purchase, comparing to the 8n. i too, had same decision, but with diesel, live hydraulics, power steering, and on and on, you'd be glad you did it! as john said, (and he's a pro-expert on these jinmas), a limited pocket book is something we've all had, and parts are no problem at all.

I had been interested in a jinma for a while when homier came to town.

I test drove one the the economy models.. the 2999.00 2wd no ps.

Actually was way impressed as i had imagined it was a rinky dink lawnmower rip off. I would not have been afraid to get one.

The sales people are dumber than farm animals... I had to show the salesguy how the high low range worked on the tractors.. at one point someone asked him a question about it, and he actually asked if I knew the answer... But the machines themselves looked solid.

I didn't see any cracked castings.. bulged seals or gaskets.. or leaks of any kind. All were freshed greased.. but looked like cheapy axle grease... I'm pretty particular to red peneplex or the nh blue tube grease.. but I soppose any grease is better than no grease.

If they ever come back to town I'm gonna get one to replace my murry riding mower.. they are just.. cute...

Homier is back, still no tractors though. Their flyer now lists the 20 HP 2WD at $3999, a $1000 increase from last time they came to town six months ago. They are also carrying implements with their FarmPro branding, box blade, 6' rough cut mower and a 3pt quick hitch.

One other thing my daughter noticed in their flyer were playing cards with a disclaimer next to them that says "Not for sale in the state of Alabama". Anyone have any idea why they can't sell cards in Alabama?

I live in Alabama and as far as I know there are no restrictions on playing cards. They sell them at Wal-Mart, gas stations, etc.

Actually, the 20 hp ones that are $3999 have turf tires. The ones with Ag tires are $3499, but they told me they have a waiting list for them through them, although they said I may find one at one of their dealers.
