Saw on the New Holland website that they are offering a factory cab option. Anybody know if it can be installed on my 04 40DA?

any ideas on $$

yep, Dealer says factory install only. I didn't like that answer so I called New Holland. They said new tractors only, but they are looking into the poss. of making a retrofit cab down the road.

Thinkin Laurin might do the job for me.

BTW cost for the cab was a $6400 option.

A retrofit oraftermarket cab will never be as nice as a factory installed one. If you want a cab, You could probably sell your present tractor for a good price and buy a new one.

AndyMa, I beg to differ. IMHO, the Jodale Perry Cabs still look much better than what NH offers. Not having actually been in either this is just from a looks perspective.

There was a member that posted a bunch of pics of his JP Cab but I could not find it.

I admit that a factory cab would provide the best fit appearance etc, but a laurin or Jodale-perry would be better than nothing.

As fas as selling it as a trade in..... Got the NH 0% financing in 04 and worked my tail off paying it off early. I owe zip on it now and it only has 224 hrs, I can deal with a little discomfort without a cab for the $$ savings and not being in debt.

I could make one......hmmmmmm I do like projects.

My experience is with a New Holland cab on a TN, but I must say that the A/C, heating, and air filtration systems are totally integrated into the cab. I don't believe that youwould ever be able to do that in an aftermarket cab. Also the fir and finish as to how the cab integrates with the tractor is basically flawless. Details like how the A/C coils slide out near the radiator to allow service would also not be practical in an aftermarket cab.

Just my thoughts and observations. As far as the appearance of a Jodale Perry Cab vrs the ew Holland cab I guess that is Ford vrs Chevy stuff.

I agree with Andy here. While a Jodale-Perry cab looks great you still need to deal with everything else.

I am wondering why they wouldn't fit older models ? What did they change besides the headlamps? Don't tell me they radially changed the tractor... so the cab would be a 06 forward fit. The pictures I have seen with the straight flat glass don't justify the huge cost difference. John Deere cabs rule !!!!!
