I am looking to throw up a shelter of some sort to keep the tractor and a few things out of the elements. This will most likely be temporary until I can build a pole building (or stick bundling) the way I want in a year or so.

This will have a dirt floor, no electricity type shelter. I prefer all enclosed with a door of some sort for the tractor to fit through but I guess a door is not totally necessary.

I started reading about the Fabric type but read several complaints about it tearing after one year. To me I don't have a major preference unless persuaded at this point. I did happen to run across some metal style building when poking around. Does anyone have these and are they nice / worth it? Can they be disassembled and sold? Do they need footing or can they be built on dirt?

My budget is $1500-$3000. Tractor, a few mowers and a quad or two may sit there instead of my current garage to free up some space. If I spend 3k I'd like a door in front for the machine to exit. Rough dimensions I'd say are 24x24 or 20x30 for a guess of what I'd like. Also, how much to throw up a cheap pole barn. I have a post gold digger so I assume throwing some stick int the ground is easy. Sheathing seems to be the expensive part I'm guessing.

So what have you had luck with in regards to a shelter?

I haven't priced materials for a basic pole barn just yet....

But you think this is the cheapest way?

Well everything is currently inside except the tractor. Id prefer to keep this one from fading .... My last one sat out for 2 years and fading was noticeable. Id like to prevent this. Also, my log splitter is in my buddies barn. Id like new stuff to look new as long as possible.

I am going to build a nice building hopefully sooner than later but I can't get it in this year. So I'll need something before winter to hold me over

car ports a ceiling / roof that is all plus some legs. quick and cheap and can be just that cheap may not hold long term. but temp solution.

i have not received magazines for the last year or so. (have not been buying through magazines) most likely reason no longer getting them. but use to see a lot of on-sale car ports in the couple thousand buck range.

there is a good amount of metal buildings out there. i am a tad partial to "morton buildings" 2 of them behind the house. 40 plus years old. large company. lots of plans online.

google keywords
pole barn
metal buildings

should bring back an assortment of companies. some of the companies more specialized in complete package plus instillation. some contract work out to local builders. and then you can normally DIY as well. most of the bigger players are more setup for commercialized metal buildings / pole barns. vs home owner shed. but most of them have some sort of home owner shed plans. when you get into complete total packages with instillation. it normally means some sort of insulation put in, and needing to meet different codes for say an automotive shop or like. were it gets into niddy griddy portion of a given business type wanting a metal building.

menards, lowes, homedepot if you goto the building counter / shed counter. they might have something to plug in a few numbers and print something out for some sort of idea for cost.

with above will still push you to find out prices for a pole barn. before choosing to get a car port.

Yeah I think it is I have a 30x40 cost me a little under 14k and with concrete floor insulation under 20k. You cant even get a steel building for that.

Well, again, Id like this on the super cheap for the temporary..... I did get a quote for stick built and brick front with 14' door opening for 50k. (This was without electoral or the doors....

However, I will be cutting that price down drastically with my own labor and some changes.

But as for now, I'm looking super cheap to get my tractor out of the elements.....

I'll have to check the big box stores and see what they have
