My F3680 started missing a week ago, in fact I didn't finish mowing. It felt like fuel issues. Looked at the fuel filter, checked internet and ordered one. Went to install in, then realized there are two. I changed the one nearsest the pump. Seemed to have fixed it, but half way through mowing it acted up again...then it went away. I'll order another and change the other one two.

My question is between the filters, is a metal canister....I did not see any wires going to it. The WSM says this is a fuel pump...but with no wires running to it, how does it work?

Hi jc, I have the same problem on my F3680, the mower engine runs for a while & then for no reason shakes like a dog with fever & stops, this to me is a fuel shortage problem. I replaced two fuel filters, blew out the fuel lines with compressed air & its still doing the same thing "shutting down". My next guess is, is it electrical (if you cant fix it with a hammer then it has to be electrical) the fuse box (3 fuses) on the offside near the radiator is worth a look at, the 10amp drives the fuel pump. The metal canister (which you speak of) is the fuel pump, turn the ignition key one space to the right & hear the fuel pump clicking also place your hand on it & feel the vibration also while your hands are on the pump go around the back of the pump & check out the wires, otherwise just keep tracking the problem the best way you can. Cheers for now & keep me posted here in Brisbane Australia. PS anyone who is able to pinpoint the problem please reply, Cheers

I think I've solved my problem. I changed the 2nd filter too, and since then the problem has not reoccurred. Be interested in how your problem works out, since I have the same mower....and you just don't know when a gremlin might show up.

I just finished mowing my yard, and every time I get done, I realized how good this mower is. I'm really happy with mine for sure.

ok f series. yes shaking like a dog is fuel. pull the fuel hose off the injector pump and stick it in a tin. turn ignition key on and inspect the flow. ive seen the pumps die but keep ticking (u should hear them tick). they tick loud until the fuel hits them and then they quieten down a lot. fuel flow should be a full hose that shoots out about an inch. no air should come out with it. just constant fuel. if not check hoses, filters, fuel pump etc. also check the fuel cap is breathing and not causing a vapour lock in the tank.
