Since the YM tractor posts on this forum outnumber the F-series tractor posts I decided to post a few pics of my tractor (F22D) in action. I purchased this tractor from Buck at EFC in Feb/March and it has been great! Its done everything I have asked of it, only thing I have had trouble with was the dynamo was getting loud and I had to replace the bearings which cost me $5.00. Now all I need is a manure spreader ;) and maybe another Yanmar :). The pics are of me spreading manure in the pasture after which It spread evenly by hand :( .

Not to steal the thread but here are a couple more pics of an F series tractor working. One in the garden in late summer and another one working up the pasture in the early fall.

The Yanmar tillers do a real nice job, at least on my soil.

Mickey, no worries about stealing the thread, I think it would be great if everybody with an F-series would post some pics . That tiller looks like it does a real nice job and is the next implement on my list. Does it do fairly well on compacted pastures/ hard ground? Nice looking tractor.

As for working on hard/compacted ground. There is only so much you can do with a tiller on compacted ground if it is also bone dry.

Had been over 30 yrs sine the pasture had been worked up. Had cattle on it for many yrs and sheep the last few yrs. We had a long dry summer and I tried to see if I could do any good under those conditions. Didn't do too well. I could go slow enough where the tiller did its job but was going so slow you'd never get the job done.

After a week of rain this fall I tried again and it did much better. The second pic is is how the tiller did after a little rain. Much better but clumps of grass and roots didn't help, it wasn't like running the tiller over the garden. Ran the tiller over the pasture twice before planting. Think I got the soil worked down about 4"-5" which was enough for me to replant. This time I was moving at a decent speed, close to a fast walk.
