Race on now and not able to connect. Apple didn’t think thru the demand.

My son is a huge F1 fan. We have YouTube TV and Amazon Prime, for the shopping. I’m kind of anti streaming otherwise. I grew up watching Chicago sports and now there are two different streaming services to watch their sports. They are above my tolerance level of what I’m willing to pay now. F1 just sold out like all the other sports in my opinion.

I dunno...IMHO streaming is the perfect avenue for sports, almost everyone owns a device that will do it, and this way regular programming isn't pre-empted for something of relatively limited appeal.

I like streaming services, I just don’t want to pay for them. It seems like it’d be easy to pay $200 to $300 for all that stuff, not just sports.

I pay around $150/month for Dish. If it does not come on Dish - I don't get it. I will NOT pay extra just for expanded TV service - period. Life goes on........

For the sports that have gone streaming I just no longer watch them. Not worth the cost or the hassle. The only TV I get is over the airways. That includes the 3 legacy networks, some PBS type channels and about 10 most useless low res channels. When we gave up DirecTV I thought I would miss a lot of stuff but I've just found other ways to use my time. I do have Amazon Prime and used to use it for something like Clarkson's Farm but then they added commercials to a service I was already paying for so I stream even less. Again, don't miss it.

I just wait for the highlights on YouTube. If you ever have a chance to go to an F1 race, sit by the end of a long strait. You mind will have a hard time watching & contemplating the 5g decels needed to make the turn. I used to assist a team. Now interested in what GM will be able to accomplish after the $1.8B entry fee. You have to understand that all 10 of the other teams are not happy about the GM entry for many reasons, but the primary one is sharing the pot $ now with 11 teams rather than 10. Once they get their own motor, better drivers, and crew coordination, it ought to be good competition.

BTW: my Nascar work (via GM Engineering Staff) was more fun because the 'players' (drivers, crew, owners) were more 'accessible', friendly, and less egocentric. Now retired, I'm involved with FSAE (Formula Student). You may find that there are FSAE events being held near you. Go see what college students can do with electric and now even 'driver-less' race cars. This category is more about team building, engineering, fabrication, budgetting, and involvement rather than 'racing'.

Plus you being from Ohio ("Round on the ends and Hi in the middle"), you have a very popular, demanding, and fun for spectators race venue at Mid-Ohio
!

Also, Bahrain & Jeddah have been canceled.

Can’t believe how many people are having issues with the F1 stream right now. You’d think Apple would’ve prepared better for that kind of live race traffic, especially on launch day.

I tried restarting everything and still couldn’t get in either, so it doesn’t seem like an isolated thing. Feels more like a capacity/server problem than anything on our end.
