Hi guys, doesnt seem i am putting the right words into my searches... -Can I bypass a duel ram, that opens and closes the bucket on tractor, to get me out of trouble for a couple of days, -i wont be needing to use this function, but dont want the bucket to creep open either? I have broken a fitting, and wonder if i can connect the bottom hose to the point where the top hose leaves the hard pipe, to feed into the top of the ram... -in essence, to just join the two feed pipes to that ram, with the good hose, and exclude the ram on that side of the bucket.... not sure of the dangers of flow directions, volumes and valves. (or anything else i havnt thought of)... tractor is a sota apollo 110hp. thanks guys...

To the best of my ability to interpret your post...it sounds like you have two double acting hydraulic cylinders on your bucket and have a broken fitting on one of the cylinders? If that's the case then, no, you cannot join the two lines with another line. Since both cylinders feed lines are T'ed together all that will do is allow all oil to bypass the one good cylinder and it would go where gravity pulled it. You would have to block both lines that feed the cylinder with the broken fitting so that the other cylinder will operate correctly.

Just plug the lines going to the bad cyl, and disconnect the bad cyl.

The concern would be all of the load to control the curl function of the bucket is going to now be on 1 cylinder instead of the 2 it was designed for. Good chance of racking the loader frame.

How hard is it to just replace the bad fitting?

Gotta do more than just not use THAT function. I took it as he meant he would be still using the loader, just no curl.

He said he would not be needing the curl function, so plugging the cyl lines or fittings would work to keep the good curl cyl locked in place.

Should disconnect the bad cyl .

Since he said there is a bad fitting, and not a bad hose, I assumed there is no way to "plug" it tight enough to hold fluid and hold the cylinder in place without replacing the fitting. And if that is gonna happen, just hook it back up.

Pictures and a better explanation of the problem would help muchly.

Where and what fitting is broken?

You said "opens and closes the bucket", Is it a 4in1 bucket?
