I have a new to me 2000 4300 with 370 hours. Everything appears to work fine except:
1. Reverse pedal (HST) is hard to operate and I am going to have the pedals changed to the new design.
2. It seems to require excessive force to engage the PTO.

Has anyone else experienced this? And what if any corrective measures have you taken.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Van415,
I had the same problem with the reverse HST pedal on my 2001 JD 4200. It required a triple jointed contortionist to depress it. My dealer gave me a set of the new style pedals under warranty, it took about 15 minutes to change them over. Now the HST is much more user friendly. Strongly recommend the change. Keep in mind that you need to change both the fwd and the reverse pedals.
