How's everyones mowing season going? Getting pretty dry here in NE Ohio. Most of the grass has turned brown but the buckhorn and the other weeds seem to be thriving. I mow about every other week at this point.
I have had no major problems except replacing my PTO.

bush hogg'd about 20 acres of hay/weeds on Saturday. I doubt we'll see a good second cutting this fall. If you need hay in ohio/ky/In, get it now.

I agree, the weeds are sure growing well!

Very very dry in the Buffalo area. It's one heck of a hard and bumpy lawn. All of the full sun areas are pretty burnt out aside from the weeds. I've already been mowing with the mulch plug, which usually doesn't happen until late July.
They are doing some digging at work. The clay was powder dry 8ft under ground!

Think the wether man said last evening Tulsa has only had 4 days this month without rain. I keep wondering if I moved to Washington state and didn't know it.. Keeping the grass cut has been impossible unless I want to mow swamps.

What mowing?

I'm in Northern Virginia. I've mowed exactly ONCE this year, and that was in mid May I think.

I don't think we've had more than a tenth of an inch of rain since early june.

The last two days in a row, we've had loud thunderstorms, without a drop of rain with them.

It's starting to feel like San Diego around here!

Bob, I actually have mowed right through big puddles a few times this year. My lawn needs mowing every 3 days, but sometimes it hasn't gotten mowed that often because it's so wet.

Isn't that the way it always is, way too much rain in one area, not enough in the others. We got about 1/2 " today and it's still raining in NE Ohio, it has been DRY...

I was talking to some friends the other day and suggested we sure could use some rain to get the grass to green up a bit but on the other hand, it sure is nice to have all this sunshine. Just gotta take what you're given!

My wife and I walked out on the porch to enjoy the sound and smell of the rain.
