We've been getting a lot of interest (and sales) on the new versions of the MTS units.
Jody is doing several installments of the Everlast MTS 250S versus the Fabricator 252i.

Here is his video, part 1...more to follow in this thread over the next few days/weeks.

Great video!

I'd like to meet the guy who invented arc force, I'd buy him a cup of coffee!

I think it was a good video. Obviously they have a better stick torch than we do. But it's not something 20.00 won't fix.
The difference in the weld between the front and back side in my opinion wasn't so much "knocking off the rust", but rather a difference in pass temperatures.
According to my understanding, he did the welds back to back. A large piece of metal like this would weld more smoothly and thus make it seem "hotter" once
three passes had preheated the metal. Nothing like welding hot metal...

I welded with the MTS 250 myself, and have done so with most of the Thermal Arc units. Not a hill of beans worth of difference in stick, compared to the 252i, but it is better than the smaller 3 in 1 units from TA.

Additionally, I welded 6010 with this unit quite easily, and I understand that the TA won't?? I didn't try the TA with 6010 when I was able to try it out, so I don't know. Maybe yomax knows.

Oh yeah no doubt, hot metal make a huge difference.
Both machines produced some nice looking beads! In my opinion, manufactures just can't win with what style of stinger, and ground clamp they provide. You can't make everybody happy. My Dynasty 300 and the V350-Pro didn't come with anything, what's up with that?!:confused3:

I think the TA 3 in 1 units will run 6010 to say they can run 6010 but how many people buy these or yours to run 6010? Actually, Who wants to run 6010...not me. Or who even wants to stick weld..Not me. Anyway i'm not sure of what the Everlast unit looks like or welds like but I understand the TA's have done over 12 million in sales in 11 months..How much have the Everlasts done? ( As long as you are bringing me into your post against my will. )

It's a very frequent question we get. A lot of people do. We have a lot of pros and welding students that buy them for either practice or fabrication and that's one issue we address daily with customers. Wasn't trying to Dog on the Fabricator unit. It's definitely a fine unit. Just curious to find out about its capability. The question I asked was meant as a friendly question, nothing more. Jody calls them as he sees them. Good or bad. He's making a video comparing the different features. We've not done that much in sales on that unit...but...when you sell for less, or half it represents a lot more units than you realize:thumbsup:. But we are definitely in the multi-millions overall.

You can see both units set alike in the video. It's worth watching for instruction and for a comparison. good entertainment value if nothing else. Here's what it looks like.

Besides what a Miller Dynasty can do with aluminum welding, arc force is the:cool:est thing I've seen on a welding machine!

I agree, amazing the technology improvements they have made! Makes you wonder how much longer welding will be considered a skill?

I'd like to see all these newbies that think they're welders put their auto dark helmets down and try welding with an old school hood where you have to nod your head down.;):D Then you could separate the men from the boys.:ashamed:
