I have been a lurker on this forum for years and decided to join today. I currently have a lincoln electric "buzz box" and its a pain in the ***** to weld with if i accidentally get too close to the weld puddle the arc goes out. I have been looking at either the ever last power arc 200 or the esab mini arc 161 lts. Im leaning towards the everlast but was wondering how they hold up to long term usage.

The first Everlast welder I bought was the PowerArc 200. That must have been 6 or 7 years ago. I gave it to a good friend. It still works perfect!:thumbsup:
I now have the PowerArc 200ST. Very impressed with it! It welds every bit as nice as my Lincoln SA-200s engine drives!

Do you miss not having Arc Force and Hot Start controls like on the 300ST?

The 200ST is all automatic. It works very well. My Vantage 400, and V350-Pro have adjustable arc force. Who ever invented arc force should get an award!:cool2:
Hot start means nothing to me, I don't use it at all! I've started a few rods in my time! ;)

Did you ever run your power arc 200st on 110v? Some of the welding i might encounter in the future is in the middle of nowhere with only 110 available

I just tried it once, to see if it worked. Coming from the structural welding world, I'm big into power! So 220-volt, or engine drives for me!

With the recommendation from Shield Arc I just bought a 200ST. I have the thread New to welding on here. Not a long term review but being super new and never welded in my life I find it very easy to use, for being a beginner at least. I did use mine on 110v with 6011 & 7014 the first time I tried it, both worked great. I liked the 110v idea for the same reason, to hook up to my inverter generator if I needed to repair something away from a power source. I only tried 6011 on the generator but it worked fine and my Gen is a 3100w max 2800w continuous.

Our techs think they are awesome too. Very reliable little units. Solid buy for the money and they work well.

Do you have any trouble with the rod getting stuck constantly? Thats 90% of why i hate my Lincoln buzz box the other 10% is the arc going out while welding with 7014. Im also new to welding

I paid over $12,000.00 for my Vantage 400. In SMAW mode the PowerArc 200ST runs the same. Mark, maybe you guys should raise the price of the 200ST! :D
