As some of You dont like certain critters because they tear up Your property & gardens & crops, Which I can understand. I enjoy watching Mine . I took these a few minutes ago. first couple sitting at My puter .

The Buck was stareing at Me through the window , by the time I grabbed the camera He got a little further away. I moved to the Rear deck & took the others. They Certainlly wasn,t bothered by Me , nor I been them . I thought some might enjoy the pics, Others not so much probablly. :D , Bob

Great pics!!!

One of my biggest dissapointments when moving out here is that I don't see any deer. I just took it for granted that I'd see them when I lived out here and they would be all over the place, but we're lucky to see them a couple times a year. Hogs are everywhere, but the deer are very nocturnal and stay in the thick stuff. The state biologist told me that their numbers are only about one per every 30 acres in my county. I think I have more then that, but I'm surrounded by two larger ranches that I'm trying to pull them in to my land with my corn feeder and food plot. I think it's working, but just barely.

I envy you that you have them in your yard and can see them during the day.

Eddie, you can have all ours! I too enjoy watching them and looking at them. I got this pic last week one day, mid-morning when I saw movement out the living room window. I don't have a garden yet so it's OK, but NEXT year when there IS a garden might be a different thing! ;)

I've also had that "being watched" feeling while working in the garden. Looked up and the deer were standing just inside the woodline watching me weed:D. I somehow thought I was being supervised while taking care of their vegetable crop:rolleyes:. I do like watching them though, especially when the youngsters get to playing.

You can have ours too Eddie. They reached nuisance status here years ago. Seriously....and guess which non-domestic animal kills more people than any other year after year? A buck in rut, or a doe with a fawn will aggressively come after you if you happen to run into them. We and neighbors have encountered this. I used to look forward to seeing them (20+ years ago) but now you can't NOT see them.

My wife and I counted 40+ 1 winter in the back woods. Have not seen that many sense, unless I go south to a friends. We usually get 20 or so during winter but during the summer we only see a few. Probably cause they're not out during the day light as much during the warmer months

I have so many that the closest deer-car accident I've ever experienced was in my own driveway. If ya see ONE, ya better stop because more are sure to follow. Farmers around here are given special permits in the summer so they can shoot as many as they want. All they have to do is prove crop damage. Buddy at work has gotten permits the last two years. He got 6 or 8 last summer, and not sure if he's gotten any this year. He wont shoot them unless he knows he can get them processed quickly.

You know what Wayne, I was a bit worryed for a moment while taking those pics when the doe was getting closer the little buck started coming back my way , neither were scared of me . I,m wondering if I would have moved closer to the doe if the buck might not have charged me . .

I,ve seen Groups of them in the 20,s before To the rear of the property where the river is . Theres a heavily Sheltered slough to the north of the house & they will pop up out of there & walk right up by the house like these two did . We dont really have much for them to damage other then the flower gardens & they dont bother them much . But the doe in the one pic was trying out the wifes zuchini plant :D . Bob
