erskine snowblower spout flipper

My dad has an erskine pull type snow blower. It has a flipper spout that will blow the snow to the left or right. the spout is on the rear of the blower, a rod goes from the chute to a position on the front is bent to a lever to grab and flip the spout. Im hoping someone has made a better setup for this. His tractor doesnt have rear hydraulics, so it wouldnt be too easy to make a hyd.flipper. A 12 volt actuator would be a posibility, Or im thinking there should be a way to have a push pull lever on the operators platform hooked to a bell crank to flip the spout. Looking for a good idea,,,, ps the spout should flip quickly.
