Thanks to TBN and member Nedly05, I now have this as-new Erskine front-mount snowblower. You never know when a casual remark in a TBN post will lead to a great find !!

We've been getting some snow in MA - so it's been put to work. I can report it works very well - pics below show opening a path to the brush pile - about 15" of drift-packed snow.

Nice looking setup. Any problem keeping the front window clean? I have to use the wipers on my Toolcat frequently when I use the blower.

The plastic tent keeps the blizzards out - but is open at the bottom. The cab stays habitable but doesn't really get warm - so the snow doesn't seem to stick to it too much. Visibility is not perfect - but is good enough. Seems like a good trade-off, being 98% cheaper than a real cab. :D

This one came from upstate NY - but you are right - there is a classified listing here for one in Maine. That one is a beauty - looks like brand new. I was in Maine in September and drove over to see it. After looking at the Erskine design up close, I wanted to figure out if I could change it's rigid front attachment to the tractor so it could tilt and follow the ground - posted here about it. Just as I figured out how to do it, TBN member nedly05 (from upstate New York) mentioned in a TBN post about his Erskine. He was interested in getting a big Farmi - which I happened to have - so we traded machines. The one in Maine may still be available. If so, it's in perfect condition and Dennis the owner is a great guy. Someone will get a fine deal - these are exceptionally rugged and well-built machines.

Great set alright. I have been using a friends TC18 with the 60" Erskine front blower for the past few weeks and I tell you it is really nice. Heated cab and all. Driving forward and staying warm and dry is really nice for a change. I hope my buddy keeps his TC18 at my place till the spring.

It's a really nice cab. It has heat, lights inside and out, radio and is surprisingly roomy. The cab was made in Quebec.

Very nice looking unit - it looks like a Laurin Comfort Cab - they make a great product - current price for one to fit my L5450 is north of $6k  but includes a/c, espresso machine, etc. Maybe someday.
