We have just recieved confirmation that we will recieve EPA approved engines in our order of 300 series Jinma Y-395 Tractors, which is due in the USA at the end of January. We are hoping that the Y-385 engine is not far behind. We knew that they had the certification and just was not sure when they would be putting them in the tractors, this engine is a up charge but with all the EPA/customs problems it will be well worth the difference. We will keep you posted on the changes and how they engines run once we recieve them

Tommy, that is good news. I would be very interested in knowing what engine design changes were needed for the Y385, when you get approval for it. Curous if its pistons, heads, cam, etc. Probably, sometime in the distant future, the prior to epa changed engine parts will be hard to obtain. Might want to stock up /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

does this mean it will be harder to get parts for the ones current models?

I probably shouldn't have posted that. Not trying to cause any concern. Given the quantity of Y385 engines already in the states, I doubt there will be a parts issue. Also, there won't be any issue importing engine parts, as long as they are being made for other countries. Whole engines might be an issue, but would think the new epa engine would bolt in.

Parts are not going to be a problem, we have alot in stock and the changes to the engine were minor so I heard.I will keep everyone posted and take some pic's of the engine once we recieve it.Bob yours has the Y-385 which has not been upgraded yet,but I'm sure it's in testing now

Tommy I love my tractor. IT has had a few leaks but no big deal.
The loader has saved my back more times than I can count already.
I need a 6" auger now for the post hole digger.
Tommy I read that I could get a 3 point Jinma back hoe that doesn't attach to the frame rails. What do you think of that unit. The price is right on it.
Thanks for the input

Thanks Bob, the 3- point backhoe works OK with these tractors but puts alot of weight on the 3-point, I would still recommend the frame mount for the smaller tractors, it's a little bit of a pain to take off and on but better on the tractor.
If you have a tractor supply you can get the 6" auger or we can ship you one

Thanks for the Buisness Bob

I was told by my chinese salesman that Homier owned the rights to the 385 Jinma engine with EPA cert.

I think that there can be multiple account holders for the same engine if I'm not mistaken. just that the new account holders have to go through the same hoops as the orriginal ones do...

yes homier has had a EPA cert for a while on the y385s as I was told about 2~3 months back.
